This is my present collection of QSL cards.
These cards represent an acknowledgement from international broadcasting stations that I have received their broadcasts and reported their signal characteristics adequately. Page 1 | Page 2
QSL Cards
Collecting QSL cards is a long bygone past-time. Many older people collect QSL cards back when shortwave broadcasting was much more popular, with more stations around. Unfortunately, nowadays, stations have been closing down due to a lack of parts to maintain transmitters, and due to expensive costs - in addition to satellite, and internet being the new and more popular ways to do international broadcasting. However, even though I've started late, I've still got a few cards to show - I hope that people will be able to enjoy them because they may not be around for much longer.
BMF Taiwan
This is a HF Weather Fax station which broadcasts weather information for marine stations.
BPM China
This is a HF Time Standard station which broadcasts UTC and UT1 time in the form of beeps and ticks.
China Radio International
My favourite shortwave radio station - this one comes from China, and is very friendly on sending QSL cards and receiving listener feedback. Their broadcast quality is so good, I mistook them for Voice of America and even BBC. Their coverage is very balanced, and their signals are very strong in Australia.
They also sent me some paper dolly Beijing Olympic Mascots:
